Located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, with Yangtze River on the east, Moji Mountain Park on the south, Gezhouba Dam Water Control Project to the north, Yichang Foreign Languages High School is called “Riverside School”or “Park School” for its beautiful natural scenery and excellent bio-environment. The school is well-equipped with abundant modern teaching, working and living facilities such as the teaching building, science and technology building, office building, students’apartment building, foreign teachers’apartment building, catering center, clinic, outdoor stadium and gymnasium, etc.

宜昌市外國語高中前身為創(chuàng)建于1959年的“宜昌市第十二中學(xué)”，2001年經(jīng)市人民政府同意，與武漢外國語學(xué)校合作辦學(xué)，創(chuàng)辦“宜昌外國語學(xué)?！?。2017年8月，根據(jù)宜昌市教育“十三五”規(guī)劃提出的高中特色化發(fā)展戰(zhàn)略，學(xué)校更名為“宜昌市外國語高中”。幾十年來，學(xué)校按照市委、市政府和市教育局提出的“高起點，高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，高質(zhì)量”的特色辦學(xué)要求，秉持“為學(xué)生的終身發(fā)展奠基，為學(xué)生的未來幸福鋪路”和“質(zhì)量立校，特色強校，實干興?！钡霓k學(xué)理念，堅持走“文理并重、外語特色、國際合作”的發(fā)展之路，致力于創(chuàng)辦“特色鮮明，全國一流，國際影響”的特色名校，取得了突出的辦學(xué)業(yè)績，贏得了社會的普遍贊譽。

Previously known as Yichang No.12 Middle School founded in 1959 and Yichang Foreign Languages School granted permission in 2001 by Yichang People’s Government to cooperate with Wuhan Foreign Languages School, Yichang Foreign Languages High School came into being in August, 2017 in accordance to High School Characterized Development Strategy put forward by the 13th Five-Year Plan for Education in Yichang. Over the years, in response to the requirement for a well-known school of high starting point, high standard and high quality proposed by Yichang People's Government, Yichang Municipal Party Committee and Yichang Bureau of Education, Yichang Foreign Languages High School has adhered to the school philosophy of laying a solid foundation for students' lifelong development and paving the way for students' future well-being，school’s prosperity relying on quality, characteristics and hard work as well as the school objectives of emphasizing arts and sciences, featuring foreign languages and strengthening international co-operation. Aiming at a distinguished characterized school with international influence, Yichang Foreign Languages High School has made outstanding achievements, thus earning widespread recognition in society.

宜昌市外國語高中現(xiàn)有15-18歲在校學(xué)生約1200人，教職員工160人。學(xué)校擁有全國、省、市級拔尖人才多名，特級教師1名，省級骨干教師10名，宜昌名師工作室兩個，宜昌名師6名，市級學(xué)科帶頭人及宜昌市高考備考核心成員20名。20多名教師參加全國及省、市優(yōu)質(zhì)課競賽獲得一、二等獎，近70%的教師獲得高級職稱，“陽光德育”等多個國家、省級課題通過驗收。

Yichang Foreign Languages High School now accommodates approximately 1,200 students aged between 15 and 18 and 160 staff members. 70 percent of the teaching staff being senior teachers, Yichang Foreign Languages High School takes pride in its scores of national top talents, including 1 superfine teacher, 10 provincial key teachers, 2 municipal famous teacher studios, 6 municipal famous teachers, 20 municipal academic leaders and Entrance Examinations Preparation core members. Over 20 teachers are awarded first or second prizes in national, provincial or municipal teaching contests. Several national and provincial projects like Sunshine Moral Education have been verified for acceptance.

學(xué)校嚴(yán)格按照國家教育部要求開設(shè)課程開足課時，所開課程包括核心基礎(chǔ)課程、素質(zhì)提升課程、社會實踐課程和特色校本課程，組建了三十多個學(xué)生社團和俱樂部，每學(xué)年組織開展“體育科技節(jié)”、“中外文化藝術(shù)節(jié)”、“讀書節(jié)”等活動。學(xué)校常年聘請外教傳授英語口語和國外先進文化，開設(shè)日語、法語、德語等第二外語課程。學(xué)校與美國Green Local Schools, Camden Hills Regional High School, 加拿大多倫多市威爾士高中Wales College Secondary School、日本富士國際語學(xué)院等四所學(xué)校結(jié)成友好學(xué)校，在師生語言和文化交流等方面開展了廣泛合作，每年組織學(xué)生赴歐、美、澳、日等地著名中學(xué)和大學(xué)開展游學(xué)夏令營。學(xué)校已成為宜昌教育對外交流的重要窗口。2016年,我校與新東方教育科技集團合作開辦國際班。2017年開辦了法語、日語兩個小語種班。

Yichang Foreign Languages High School has abided strictly by the requirements of the National Ministry of Education, providing core elementary courses, quality promotion courses, social practice courses and school-based curriculum for Senior One through Senior Three students. Over 30 societies and clubs have been set up and diverse activities like Sports & Science Festival, Culture & Art Festival and Reading Festival are held annually. Foreign experts are employed on a regular basis to give lectures on oral English and foreign cultures as well as second-language courses like Japanese, French, German and Spanish. Friendly relations and extensive co-operation have been established with 4 schools including American Green Local Schools, Canadian Wales College Secondary School. Every year, students from Yichang Foreign Languages School make their way to Europe, America, Australia and Japan for the summer camp held by famous schools and universities. Being the window school for Yichang foreign exchange, our school joined forces with New Oriental Education & Technology Group in 2016 to launch the international classes. Since 2017，F(xiàn)rench Classes and Japanese classes have begun to recruit students from junior middle schools.

學(xué)校從2014年起致力于打造數(shù)字化智慧校園，新建了高標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的錄播教室、英語情景教室、理化生數(shù)字化探究實驗室、數(shù)字化學(xué)術(shù)報告廳、學(xué)生劇場等現(xiàn)代化教學(xué)設(shè)施。與西安恒坐標(biāo)教育科技集團合作，大膽探索小螞蟻移動教學(xué)平臺及微課的應(yīng)用與研究，實現(xiàn)網(wǎng)上直播開課，成為全國知名的互聯(lián)網(wǎng) 信息技術(shù)應(yīng)用先進單位。學(xué)校還向國家教育部考試中心申請托福、雅思標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考點建設(shè)，讓宜昌學(xué)子受益。

Since 2014, Yichang Foreign Languages High School has been dedicated to building a digital smart campus with the construction of modern teaching facilities such as the the Campus Recording Studio, the English Simulation Room, the Digital Exploration Laboratory for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, the Lecture Hall, the campus theatre and so on. Co-operating with Xi'an Excoord Group to explore microlectures and Littleant Mobile Teaching Platform, our school has successfully offered online courses, ascending into the leading schools enjoying nationwide popularity for the application of network information technology. In an attempt to benefit the students further, our school has applied to set up TOEFL and IELTS standardized test sites on the campus.
